A Co-founder of LAILOU, Laith is a Syrian-British actor/writer who began his acting career 18 years ago in NYC. He graduated from the prestigious William Esper Studio Professional Actor Training Program and quickly became one of the most sought after Arabic-speaking actors in the US. As a writer, Laith's play “Shesh Yak,” premiered to high accolades at the award-winning Off-Broadway Rattlestick Playwrights Theater in NYC two years ago. His TV Pilot "Florence of Arabia' is currently being shopped around by Gersh. Over the years, Laith has worked with many acclaimed directors in film, television and on stage. Some of his credits include: (stage) “War”- Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, “Cry of the Reed” – Huntington, “Inana” – Denver Center, “Aftermath” – NYTW, “Lidless” – Page 73 and “Food & Fadwa” – NYTW. He portrayed Nasim in Thomas McCarthy’s award winning film, THE VISITOR, which premiered at Sundance. He also co-stared in the award-winning film, ARRANGED. Co-Director, Stefan Schaffer, later wrote a leading role with Laith in mind for MY LAST DAY WITHOUT YOU with Nicole Behari and Ken Duken. Other film credits include RECALLED, directed by Mike Connors and SAM & AMIRA which premiered at the Seattle International Film Festival to rave reviews. Most recently, Laith had a lead role in the Doug Liman thriller, THE WALL (2017) and a major role in the Black Label Media & Jerry Bruckheimer film, HORSE SOLDIERS (2018). Laith’s credits in TV include recurring guest roles on "24 Legacy," "Blacklist" and guest spots on "Blindspot," “I Just Want My Pants Back," “Third Watch," “The Sopranos” among others.
A Co-founder of LAILOU, Nilou is a NY-based producer working in film, TV and theater.
After graduating from Columbia University, she pursued a mission to work on global and culturally diverse issues, helping to bring people together through the arts. Nilou worked for three years in TV and film development and production at Levantine Entertainment (Associate Producer for AMREEKA, 2009) before turning freelance. Nilou’s most recent film production credits include EUGENIA AND JOHN (2015) and JULIA BLUE (2018), an IFP narrative lab film and Gotham Award winner and currently on the festival circuit. She has two new features in development at the moment.
Nilou is also the co-founder and Director of Production for Eyes Up Here Productions, an NYC-based content strategy and production company that directs your gaze to the stories, socially-oriented brands, and crucial campaigns that are shaping the world we live in. Some of their clients include the NY Academy of Sciences, the National Domestic Workers Alliance and The Institute for Policy Studies.
She also has many credits in NY theater, including work at Juilliard and with the Alternate Theatre Co. Nilou also sits as President of the Board of Directors for Noor Theatre in NYC, dedicated to developing and producing the work of artists of Middle Eastern Descent.
