Palestinian-Honduran PhD candidate, Nisreen (29) is blissfully innocent and lives with her parents and loves idyllic fiancé Karim, a Palestinian émigré. With marriage promised, Nisreen sleeps with him but he quickly chokes under his mother’s pressure to break up with a no-longer-pure Nisreen—on the cusp of her “expiration-date.” Nisreen’s mother panics lining up eligible husbands. On an emergency trip to Palestine, Nisreen reconnects with her divorced cousin Gina (35). They return to NY together where they embrace their independent lives, despite the family’s wishes. Will Nisreen choose tradition over true love and become somebody’s wife? Will she get married in time?
